Global extrusion equipment manufacturer battenfeld-cincinnati has announced a multi-million-euro investment in modernising its Vienna manufacturing facility, reinforcing its long-term commitment to PVC processing technology and European manufacturing.

Established in 1978, the Vienna facility employs approximately 145 people and is a centre of expertise for counter-rotating twin-screw extruders used in the manufacture of PVC pipes, profiles and sheets.

The modernisation program, officially launched on 21 October 2026, builds on a comprehensive transformation commenced in 2025. Improvements include a redesigned production layout, more efficient material flows, installation of advanced machining equipment and increased digitalisation of manufacturing and assembly operations. The company's administration facilities will also be upgraded.

Siegfried Köhler, Managing Director of battenfeld-cincinnati Austria, said the investment demonstrated the company's commitment to its international customers and partners, combining improved productivity, modern technologies and attractive working conditions.

Part of the Davis-Standard Corporation, battenfeld-cincinnati employs approximately 600 people globally, with manufacturing operations in Austria, Germany, the United States and China.

The investment represents a positive signal for the global PVC industry, demonstrating continued confidence in the demand for advanced extrusion technologies supporting the manufacture of durable, high-performance PVC products.
