VCA is pleased to announce the appointment of David Cooper of Australian Vinyls as Chairman, succeeding Matthew Hoyne of Welvic, who has held the position since August 2020.
David brings extensive industry experience and a longstanding commitment to the Council, having served as a VCA Director since November 2008. His deep understanding of the Australian PVC industry and the Council's activities will provide valuable leadership as VCA continues to advocate for its members and advance responsible manufacturing, product stewardship and circularity across the industry.
In addition to his responsibilities as Chairman, David will chair the Board's Nominations Sub-Committee, supporting effective governance and Board succession planning.
VCA Chief Executive Jim Coulston thanked Matthew Hoyne for his outstanding contribution and leadership over the past six years.
"Matthew has been a valued member of the VCA Board since June 2009 and has provided strong and considered leadership as Chairman since August 2020. His commitment, strategic guidance and support have been instrumental in strengthening the Council's position as the collective voice of Australia's PVC industry and advancing our sustainability and industry advocacy initiatives.
"On behalf of the Board and our members, I sincerely thank Matthew for his dedication and contribution during his tenure as Chairman."
Matthew will remain on the VCA Board as a Director, ensuring the Council continues to benefit from his extensive experience and industry knowledge.
"We warmly welcome David to his new role and look forward to working with him as we continue to deliver value to members, strengthen industry engagement and promote the sustainable growth of Australia's PVC industry," Jim said.
The VCA Board congratulates David on his appointment and thanks Matthew for his significant contribution as Chairman.
